ROOTED IN THE APPALACHIAN FOOTHILLS

Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Faircrest Farm was the backdrop of my childhood and a place I hold dear to this day. More than just land, it was a living canvas painted with the dreams and dedication of my grandfather, Bob "Pappy" Ebeling, and my mother. Together, they transformed Faircrest into an enduring masterpiece.

ANCESTRAL FOUNDATIONS AND DEEP HERITAGE

The history of Faircrest is as rich as the soil it stands on. Its roots trace back to the early 1700s, when Cyrus Berk and his ancestors, Pennsylvania Dutch religious refugees from Bavaria, first tilled the land. These early settlers, with their steadfast values and resilience, laid the foundation for what would become a sanctuary for generations.

THE SPIRIT OF BOB AND FRIEDA EBELING

Faircrest wasn’t just a farm; it was the physical embodiment of my grandparents’ character and aspirations. It reflected their commitment to family, their love for the natural world, and their dream of creating a place where their grandchildren could grow up grounded, curious, and connected.

GOLDEN YEARS OF FAMILY AND CONNECTION

As one of Bob and Frieda Ebeling’s grandchildren, I was blessed to experience the golden years of Faircrest during the 1960s through the 1980s. This was a time of warmth, unity, and deep connection with the land—a time when family and friends from across the globe would gather under its wide Pennsylvanian skies to celebrate life, friendship, and heritage.

A LIVING LEGACY THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

Today, I reflect on Faircrest not just as a piece of family history, but as a living legacy. It has shaped my identity, instilling in me a profound appreciation for stewardship, resilience, and community. Faircrest was more than a farm—it was a cherished gathering place for family and friends from around the world who knew and loved Frieda and Bob Ebeling. It stood as the embodiment of their character, dreams, and hopes for their grandchildren. This legacy, rich with meaning and memory, is one I aspire to carry forward—sharing its enduring spirit with both my family and the broader community for generations to come.
