Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
Farmer Karl recently had the chance to meet Utah Jazz Bear at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course during a fundraiser supporting individuals in recovery. We’re deeply grateful for our partnerships with Eos Serenity Lodge and Weber Recovery Center as we work together to help relaunch lives through meaningful farm work, healthy community, and fresh food. If you feel inspired to help sponsor a Grow Ogden Farm Intern this season, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.
This Week’s Offering
The fields are finally beginning to overflow with abundance. We have lots more salad mix and arugula available this week — fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor from these cool spring mornings.
In the Fields
The zucchini in our high tunnel is now flowering, a sure sign that summer harvests are not far away. We’re also spotting the first small tomatoes forming on the vine — always one of the season’s exciting milestones.
This week we’ve been transplanting with the descending moon, following rhythms that generations of growers have trusted to encourage strong root development. We’re also paying close attention to pollinators and beneficial insects, doing everything we can to maintain balance in the fields and help ward off pests like grasshoppers naturally.
New to the Crew
Now that school has let out, Isaac Merrell has joined the farm crew for the summer. Isaac is not only a great basketball player, but also a hardworking and thoughtful young man, and we’re excited to have him with us.
We’re also grateful that Sarah Hayes’ apprenticeship is nearing official status. Together, our growing farm crew is delighted to serve you the freshest, healthiest produce in Weber County.
