Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
Spring has officially sprung! With St. Patrick’s Day marking our crossing into more than 12 hours of sunlight, we can feel the season turning. The soil is warming, energy is rising, and we are transplanting like crazy.
We’re also grateful to welcome Shanon Whitmore to the farm crew—who started on a particularly lucky day! Shanon brings organic vegetable farming experience from New York and is already a wonderful addition to Faircrest Farms.
Veggie News
We’re still enjoying some winter favorites while spring crops continue to come on:
- Beets, turnips, and radishes
- Sunflower microgreens and pea shoots
- Our leafy mainstays—arugula, lettuce, and spinach—are still producing well, though they’ll soon transition out of the high tunnel as field crops take over
In the Field
A few updates from around the farm:
-
Our neighbors have given the thumbs-up for beehives, and we’re planning installation around April 1st
-
A chilly dip to 26°F on Sunday morning has us watching those blossoming apricot trees closely—fingers crossed they pulled through!

We’ve got a couple of simple, meaningful ways to engage this season:
