🌱In the Fields

  • Bees are buzzing! We're talking with local beekeepers to increase pollination and bring more fruitfulness to our fields.
  • Transplanting arugula and lettuce as the soil warms and growing season accelerates.
  • Bed preparation is in full swing — keeping pace with all the eager seedlings ready to find their permanent home.
  • Pruning fruit trees before the sap rises — timing is everything this time of year.
  • Daffodils in our backyard bloomed 10 days early this year — March 9th instead of the 19th. Spring is arriving ahead of schedule!
  • Monday — Leaf & Flower trine day: We applied biodynamic preparations to awaken Mother Earth's vitality and set the season's intention.

Farm-to-Table Cooking Class: Salads That Sing 🥗

Faircrest Farms is all about salads — and this class celebrates them fully, including the dressings that make them shine. Join us for a fun evening of meal preparation, sharing, and good company.

  • This week's kitchen favorite: Kale and spinach with peppers, onions, and parsley folded into golden omelettes — simple, nourishing, and full of farm flavor.

🌕In the Heavens

🌕The Worm Moon — Sun moving to Pisces

The Sun is now moving into Pisces as we approach the Spring Equinox. The March full moon — known as the Worm Moon or Sap Moon — signals the end of winter and the thawing of the ground, which draws forth earthworms and beetles and awakens the living soil beneath our feet.

  • Beautiful sunsets grace us each evening as we make this gentle transition into spring.

Words of Wisdom

"No matter what our particular job, especially in our world today, we all are called to be Tikkun Olam— repairers of creation. Thank you for whatever you do, wherever you are, to bring joy, and light, and hope, and faith, and pardon and love to your neighborhood and to yourself."

— Mister Rogers  ·  Tikkun Olam  ·  Thinking Like a Mountain
