Dear Faircrest Farms Friends,
After a wild windstorm and a refreshing dose of rain, the farm is alive with energy and flavor. Here's what's fresh, what's happening, and how you can help us keep growing strong this season!
This Week’s Harvest
- Potatoes – creamy, colorful, and perfect for roasting.
- Cucumbers – crisp and refreshing, ideal for slicing or quick pickles.
From the Field
We weathered the wind and welcomed the cool. With the Summer Solstice now behind us, we’re back at it—sowing Roma beans, zucchini, dill, parsley, and oregano. Our zucchinis and squash are finally starting to roll in, and we’re seeding lettuce, arugula, and collards indoors to stay ahead of the curve.
We gave the farm a strengthening spray of Equisetum (horsetail tea)—a biodynamic boost for our hardworking plants.
Trellising is underway—posts are in and our climbing crops are eager to stretch skyward!
In the Kitchen
We’re experimenting with simple, flavorful ways to enjoy the harvest:
- turnip and carrot salad with a citrus vinaigrette

Pricing Updates
We’ve done some homework—checking in on local farmers markets and organic grocers. Our pricing now better reflects the freshness, flavor, and quality of what you get at Faircrest Farms. Thanks for choosing to eat seasonally and support small, local growers.
Grateful for Helping Hands
A big shout-out to our incredible volunteers! You helped us trellis, weed, mulch, scrub trays, and reorganize after the transplanting frenzy. We couldn’t do this without your generosity of time and spirit.
Farm to Fork Inspiration
Farmer Karl recently attended Red Acre’s dinner series at Cress Farm with Utah’s own Punk Rock Farmer, Al in Millcreek. A beautiful night filled with local food and local pride. The salad? Unforgettable. To learn more about Red Acre Center, visit https://www.redacrecenter.org/
