Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
This past week our fields received an astonishing 153,000 kW/m² of energy from the sun as we move ever closer to the summer solstice. Our plants are doing their best to capture that abundance while we do our part to provide them with ample water and wholesome nutrition. Every day, our goal is simple: to grow more nourishing food and beautiful flowers from this land to share with you.
Your support makes so much more possible than growing vegetables. It enables us to provide meaningful work, develop practical biodynamic farming skills, and help individuals strengthen their lives and provide for their families. In the end, healthy farms help cultivate healthier people, stronger communities, and greater hope.
Thank you for supporting Faircrest Farms. We deeply value our relationship with you!

On the Crew
We are thrilled to announce that Sara Hayes has officially become an apprentice at Faircrest Farms.
As an apprentice, Sara receives the tools, clothing, and online educational resources needed to pursue serious small-farm training. Apprenticeship represents a deeper level of trust, ownership, and continuity for the farm.
Over the course of the program, apprentices complete approximately 2,000 hours of practical experience along with 144 hours of technical study per year.
Sara is the mother of two children and recently completed the Master Gardener program. Her desire to continue learning and deepen her practical knowledge reflects a passion for agriculture that inspires all of us. We are grateful to have her as part of the Faircrest Farms family.
In the Fields
With our latest soil test results in hand, we're working to optimize the health and fertility of our growing spaces.
Recent additions include:
- 24 cubic yards of premium organic compost
- 2 cubic yards of aged cow manure
- Worm castings
- Freshly brewed compost tea
Our efforts are focused on building healthy soil and fully preparing every bed for planting. Healthy soil produces vigorous plants, and vigorous plants are naturally more resistant to pests and disease. By stewarding the soil well, we can consistently provide the exceptional produce our customers have come to expect.
At the Market
Saturday's Ogden Farmers Market was a wonderful encouragement—we sold out of nearly everything!
It's exciting to see how many people are seeking fresh, organically grown, locally produced food. There are only a handful of farms in Weber County dedicated to growing exceptional produce this way, and we're grateful for your support.
You can find us at the Ogden Farmers Market on:
- June 27
- July 18
-
Every Saturday in August and September
That's when the full bounty of summer really begins to pour in.
Words of Wisdom
"We need farms to fill a lot of voids in America right now—not just for cash. We need farms to help people heal from the hard things they've seen and experienced because soil is that calming tool that we all have access to. We need people to teach and inspire other people. Farms are making a tremendous cultural and community impact, and we need people willing to step up and fill those roles."
