Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!

We hope your Fourth of July celebration included the simple joy of fresh, seasonal food—crisp cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, summer squash, and colorful sweet lettuce piled high on a perfectly grilled hamburger. July has arrived with abundance. Since the first of the month, flowers across the farm have begun to bloom, and our front gardens are bursting with color, fragrance, and life. It's a beautiful reminder that healthy soil produces beauty as well as nourishment.

These warm summer mornings begin early on the farm. Before we head into the fields, our crew gathers for a few moments of yoga and quiet intention. We often close with a portion of our Farmer's Prayer:

"May this farm be a place where the land is restored,
where people find meaningful work,
where neighbors are nourished,
and where hope grows alongside every seed."

Those words stay with us throughout the day as we harvest, weed, compost, trellis, and care for each crop. They remind us that farming is about far more than producing vegetables—it is about cultivating health, community, and hope.

We're grateful for the opportunity to grow food that is naturally cultivated without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. Freshly harvested produce is truly medicine—rich in nutrients, vibrant in flavor, and connected to the living soil from which it comes. We invite you to visit Faircrest Farms, walk the fields, and experience firsthand the life and vitality growing here.

🌱 This Week's Harvest

This week's harvest continues to expand with the season!

Now Available

  • 🥒 Salt & Pepper Cucumbers — beautiful pale-yellow cucumbers with crisp texture, thin skin, and a sweet, refreshing flavor.
  • 🌼 Yellow Crookneck Squash — tender, buttery, and perfect for grilling, roasting, or sautéing.
  • ❤️ Detroit Dark Red Beets — sweet, earthy roots that are equally delicious roasted, steamed, or grated fresh into salads.

You'll also find our regular selection of fresh salad greens, kale, collards, zucchini, basil, bunching onions, and other seasonal favorites.

🚜 In the Fields

Summer growth is accelerating, and every day brings something new.

  • The first tomatoes are ripening! While we're not yet harvesting commercial quantities, it won't be long before tomato season is in full swing.
  • Twenty-two trays of seedlings are hardening off, preparing to withstand the intensity of July's sunshine before being transplanted into the field.
  • Our peppers are filling out beautifully—salsa season is just around the corner.
  • Pole beans have climbed beyond ten feet, while cucumbers and spaghetti squash race upward on their trellises close behind.
  • Much of our attention this week has gone toward careful weeding, adding compost, and mulching to protect moisture and keep our soil biologically active through the summer heat.

💚 Our Quality Guarantee

Your satisfaction means everything to us.

If you are ever dissatisfied with any of our organically grown produce, we'll gladly provide a full refund—no questions asked. Our harvest crew works carefully to select vegetables at their peak because we know exceptional flavor is what keeps you coming back.

🌾 Words of Wisdom

"Land is a living being with its own spirit."
— Darren Perry, Tending the Sacred

These words beautifully capture what we strive to remember each day: the soil beneath our feet is alive, and when we care for it well, it generously nourishes us in return.
