Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
One of the greatest blessings of a small farm is the people who make it possible. Because of our incredible farm crew, Rita and I were able to step away from the farm for five days to visit our son, daughter-in-law, and our little grandson, Christoph. Those moments with family are priceless.
When we returned home, we found the farm thriving. The vegetables were flourishing, the harvest was waiting, and everything had been cared for beautifully. We are deeply grateful for a crew that treats the farm with such dedication. Thank you to everyone who makes Faircrest Farms what it is.
This Week's Harvest
Summer is in full swing, and the fields are producing an abundance of fresh, organically grown vegetables. We hope you'll enjoy the flavors of the season!
This week's harvest includes:
-
Fresh Salad Mix – Our newest planting is growing beautifully alongside all of our leafy greens.
-
Sweet Peppers – Finally beginning to arrive.
-
Tomatoes – Plenty of sweet cherry tomatoes, with our slicers not far behind.
-
Spaghetti Squash
-
Lemon Cucumbers – If you haven't tried them yet, you're in for a treat! These bright yellow cucumbers are crisp, refreshing, mildly sweet, and shaped just like a lemon.
-
Swiss Chard
-
Acorn Squash
Every harvest is picked fresh and grown using regenerative, organic practices that nourish both the soil and the food it produces.

In the Field
While harvest season keeps us busy, we've also reached an important milestone—we've finished transplanting for the season!
Our focus has now shifted to:
- Harvesting every day
- Mulching to conserve moisture and keep soils cool
- Applying liquid organic fertilizers to keep crops healthy and productive through the heat of summer
The fields are looking vibrant, and we're excited for what August will bring.
Serving Ogden's Finest Restaurants
This week marked another exciting milestone for Faircrest Farms. For the first time, we delivered fresh squash blossoms to one of our restaurant partners. The response was immediate and encouraging.
One chef texted us:
"Packaging on the basil was great. Do you think I could do 5 lbs a week? Squash blossoms were fantastic!"
Moments like this remind us why we farm. It's an honor to provide the freshest ingredients to some of Ogden's finest chefs while helping strengthen our local food system.
Words of Wisdom
"The glory in gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, and heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul." — Alfred Austin
