Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
With nationwide lettuce contamination making headlines, we've been reminded how important it is to know where your food comes from. Several shoppers stopped by our booth at the Ogden Farmers Market this weekend simply looking for lettuce they could trust.

One of our own crew members recently battled a serious case of food poisoning, a sobering reminder that the food we eat truly matters. At Faircrest Farms, "Know your farmer. Know your food." isn't just a slogan—it's a relationship of trust. We take seriously the privilege of growing food for your family and ours. Every harvest is handled with care because nothing is more important than the food that nourishes your body.

Growing Relationships

This week we welcomed several of Ogden's leading chefs for a farm-to-table breakfast and walking tour of Faircrest Farms. Our goal was simple: to listen.

We asked what flavors inspire them, what vegetables they wish they could source locally, and how we can better serve our community's restaurants. We learned that with enough planning, we can grow exactly what many chefs are looking for. It feels like the beginning of an exciting partnership that will bring even more fresh, locally grown food to our community.

This Week's Harvest

Exciting news—arugula is back! After plenty of experimenting, we're learning how to produce tender, peppery arugula even during Utah's summer heat.

This week's harvest also includes:

  • Fresh salad mix
  • Arugula
  • French Breakfast Radishes
  • Bunching Onions
  • Cucumbers
  • Summer Squash
  • Kale
  • Collards
  • Herbs
  • Our first eggplant of the season!

The squash and cucumbers seem to multiply overnight, while tomatoes are finally beginning to catch up. Every week the harvest becomes a little more colorful.

In the Fields

Even as summer reaches its peak, our eyes are already on fall.

We've been transplanting the next generation of crops, taking advantage of the descending moon and preparing beds for cooler-weather harvests. The farm is looking beautiful thanks to many generous volunteers—including the men from Weber Recovery Services—who have spent hours weeding, harvesting, and helping care for the land. Their willingness to serve is making a real difference.

💚 Our Quality Guarantee

Your satisfaction means everything to us.

If you're ever disappointed with any of our organically grown produce, we'll gladly refund your purchase—no questions asked.

Our harvest crew carefully selects vegetables at their peak because exceptional flavor is our highest priority. During weeks like this one, when temperatures climb above 100°F, nature occasionally surprises us. A cucumber or lettuce leaf may develop a hint of bitterness despite our best efforts.

If something isn't quite right, simply let us know. We value your trust and will always do our best to make it right.

Words of Wisdom

"But in our Native American tradition, sacredness is something that we should experience every day. I think it's found in the quiet moments in the morning. I think we find it in gratitude before we partake in a meal. It's in caring for the land and listening deeply, and recognizing that life itself is a gift. So to tend the sacred is to care for what matters most."
