Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
Sunday marks 11 hours of sunlight — the days are growing longer, and so is our gratitude!
Weather & Gratitude
We are so thankful for the snow this week — 0.55 inches of rain equivalent soaked into the earth just when we needed it. Let's keep praying for more!
With the sunshine came a real bite of cold — and it finally felt like winter for a little while.
This Week's Harvest
Mid-winter and the farm is still alive with vibrant greens! Here's what's available this week:
-
Spinach
-
Salad Mix
-
Arugula
-
Pea Shoots
-
Sunflower Microgreens
In the Fields
We've been thinning seedlings and getting ready for transplant. Soil temps are expected to rise with the warmer weather forecast!
Inside the high tunnel, we're sitting at a cozy 50°F.
In the Kitchen
Cooking class TONIGHT at 6:00 PM! We're diving into Soup Basics using freshly harvested turnips straight from the field. There's something magical about cooking with food you just pulled from the ground.

-
Where to Look: Low in the southwestern sky
-
Easy Naked Eye: Venus and Jupiter will be bright and beautiful
-
Bring Binoculars: Mercury, Saturn, Uranus & Neptune need clearer skies and a little help
-
Heads Up: Mercury and Venus set quickly after sunset — don't miss the window!
Grow Ogden
Exciting news — our farm staff has been hired and is ready to roll!
22 applicants — individuals facing homelessness or in recovery — are choosing a new path and a fresh start. The interviewing process is now starting. We are honored to be part of their journey.
