Hello Faircrest Farms Friends!
We’re so grateful for the gentle rainfall this week—it has sparked a surge of growth across the farm. With over 13 hours of sunlight now each day, spring is truly stretching its legs. Rita and I were also honored to be featured in the April edition of South Ogden Neighbors magazine—what a joy to share the story of Faircrest Farms with our community.
New This Week
- Our first 8 oz harvest of rhubarb—just a taste of what’s to come
- Fresh mint
- Abundant cilantro, bunching onions, and parsley
- Crisp beets, turnips, and radishes
In the Field I just finished reading A Biodynamic Manual by Pierre Masson, which is helping bring more precision and intention to our growing practices. Meanwhile, we’ve been transplanting flowers and herbs into the front yard—soil is prepped, irrigation is set, and things are taking root beautifully. We’re also gearing up for our upcoming plant sale—more details soon!
On the Crew We’re excited to welcome Lauren Holley to the farm! A graduate of Grow Ogden, Lauren brings great energy and a passion for plants. She’s exploring a future in nursery work, and we’re glad to be part of her journey.
