Hello Faircrest Farms Friends! Can you believe it? It’s been one full year since we launched on Shopify—52 weekly newsletters bringing you the freshest, tastiest, and healthiest produce Weber County has to offer. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
This Week’s Offerings
We hope you’re enjoying the seasonal bunching onions and spinach—true spring favorites. Our second crop of lettuce is coming in strong, which means more fresh salad mix in the weeks ahead.
Looking forward, bok choy and kale are on their way and should be ready soon!
Seedling Sale Reminder: Be sure to place your pre-orders now to secure your favorite varieties before they’re gone.
On the Team
Please join us in welcoming Ginger Blackburn to Faircrest Farms! Originally from Canada, Ginger grew up farming alongside her grandparents and brings a deep love for working with plants. She’s learning quickly and already a wonderful addition to the team.
In the Field
Our tomato and pepper seedlings are thriving—our solarium is quickly turning into a lush forest of green! Thanks to propane heat, they’ve stayed cozy through recent frost dips.
We’re especially grateful for the 1.2 inches of rain we received this week—what a gift. And with Pineview secondary water scheduled to turn on April 20th, we’re gearing up for even more growth.
We’ve sown our carrots and radishes (with the moon in Capricorn ), and our cucumbers and zucchini have germinated beautifully.
We’re also expanding our herb offerings by transplanting: Lovage, chives, garlic chives, thyme, Italian & Greek oregano, rosemary, tarragon, fennel, and yerba buena—all showcased alongside flowers in our front yard. These herbs are the foundation of truly irresistible meals.
In addition, we’re planting more pollinator-friendly flowers—a natural strategy to help manage what could be a higher grasshopper population this season.
With the Community
Don’t miss Grow Ogden Earth Day—bigger and better this year with over 12 organizations participating!
Details: https://www.edenstreets.org/communityevents
Faircrest Farms will be there selling seedlings as part of a fundraiser for Eden Streets—just $5 per seedling.
You can also pre-order seedlings now for pickup on May 9th or 16th, when the danger of frost has likely passed.
